The second meeting of the Commitee on Implementation of Antiviral Medication Strategies for an Influenza Pandemic took place on January 7-8, 2008. The purpose of the meeting was to get additional information to inform the committee’s deliberations in several areas:
1. Resistance and surveillance, and implications for wide-scale distribution of antiviral drugs
2. Views of planners in the private sector and in health care about the who, where, and how of prophylaxis
3. Lessons from past distribution campaigns
4. The ethics of antiviral distribution in a pandemic
5. More information about state plans (and specifically, any interaction with the private sector)
6. Other information about logistical options and issues
