Report: Gulf War and Health: Depleted Uranium, Pyridostigmine Bromide, Sarin, Vaccines (2000)

The committee recommends continued follow-up of veterans exposed to depleted uranium, including the Baltimore cohort of Gulf War veterans with DU exposure and the long-term study of the health of other Gulf War veterans at high risk for DU exposure (e.g., cleanup or radiation control units).

Other research recommendations:

• Continued follow-up of the cohorts of uranium processing workers.
• Additional studies of the effects of DU in animals.
