The Institute of Medicine ’ s Committee on the Consequences of Uninsurance will study uninsured Americans in a series of six reports over the next two years,beginning with this report.The committee will assess what is known about the health,social,financial and economic consequences of being uninsured and how that status affects individuals,their families,their communities,and society as a whole.
