Report Brief. Evaluating the HRSA Traumatic Brain Injury Program

At least 5.3 million Americans are estimated to have a disability related to a traumatic brain injury (TBI), an injury caused by a sudden jolt, blow, or penetrating head trauma that disrupts brain function. TBI is a leading cause of death and disability in the U.S., with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimating that at least 1.4 million such injuries occur annually.
