The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
The BCRF was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder, and is the first and largest national organization dedicated solely to funding clinical and genetic research on breast cancer. Since its inception, they have raised over $40 million in grants to support premier investigators at major medical facilities across the United Sates and internationally. In October 2002, the Foundation announced grants of $11.2 million to 63 investigators nationwide and in Israel.
National Cancer Institute (NCI)
NCI coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients. The NCI is the largest funder of breast cancer research.
Kansas Health Foundation
The Kansas Health Foundation, based in Witchita, is a private philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the health of all Kansans. The foundation engages in the strategic business of grantmaking with the ultimate purpose of improving humankind. Annual grant-making of 20 million dollars is allocated for children's health, leadership, and public health.
