Patterns of Illness and Care Before Deployment to the Persian Gulf War

Print   Email

The Medical Follow-Up Agency (MFUA) is conducted a study of U.S. military personnel who were on active duty at the time of the Persian Gulf War. The purpose of the study was to compare patterns of outpatient health care seeking in personnel who developed poorly defined illness following the Persian Gulf War and subsequently enrolled in the Persian Gulf Health Registry with a control group consisting of personnel who did not develop similar illnesses.

Findings from this study were published in the May 2006 issue of Military Medicine.
