Title: Cohort R95b: Multiple Sclerosis

Summary: A cohort of 10,610 veterans (5,305 multiple sclerosis patients; 5,305 comparisons). The MS patients were considered service connected, and therefore VA compensated, if symptom onset occurred within 7 years after separation from service. MS individuals were drawn from 1956 and 1969 VA compensation and pension files. 4402 first served in World War II and 903 first served in Korea. In addition to fields listed below in the cohort description, additional demographic and clinical data are extant. Mortality data are being collected.
