Cohort R79: Epidemiologic Studies of Mesothelioma and Employment Print   Email

Title: Cohort R79: Epidemiologic Studies of Mesothelioma and Employment

Summary: Individuals with malignant mesothelioma were obtained from records of the population-based tumor registries maintained by the University of Southern California and the New York State Health Department, and from admissions to VA Medical Centers throughout the country. Comparison individuals were selected based on death from causes other than malignant mesothelioma which occurred at about the same time and from the same geographic area; comparisons were matched for sex, age, and race. In addition to selecting a deceased comparison individual, the California registry used a living comparison selected from the same neighborhood as the mesothelioma case
