Cohort R6: Study of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in WWII Riflemen Print   Email

Title: Cohort R6: Study of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in WWII Riflemen

Summary: This cohort consists of 2,914 men who served in rifle companies in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. For each veteran, two indices of stress were constructed: (1) combat stress, the number of days served in which the company was officially in combat, and (2) the number of days served on which members of the company were victim of casualty. The cohort members were matched on race and year of entry into service with men who served in Service Forces.
