Cohort R4: Prisoners of War - WWII and the Korean War Print   Email

Title: Cohort R4: Prisoners of War

Summary: A cohort of 19,158 veterans (9,501 POWs; 9,657 controls) being followed for mortality. POWs were servicemen captured during World War II or the Korean War. World War II veterans are subdivided based upon theater of capture, either European or Pacific. Comparisons were selected from combat units in the same conflict and/or theater, in the same ratio as the exposed regarding officer/enlisted and ground/air troops. Extensive clinical data are available on a cohort subset that has been followed for morbidity.
