Title: Cohort R20: Residuals of herniated lumbar discs

Summary: This cohort was compiled from 1,095 individuals with first admission to Army hospitals for herniated lumbar disk disease in 1944 and 1945 and 1,095 age and service matched comparison individuals. Diagnostic information from the first hospital admission is available, as is additional demographic data, such as education level, occupation, and marital status.
