Cohort R102: Korean Hemorrhagic Fever (KHF) Print   Email

Title: Cohort R102: Korean Hemorrhagic Fever (KHF)

Summary: A cohort of 2,524 Army veterans (1,598 exposed; 926 comparisons). The exposed group consists of men diagnosed with KHF in Korea between Jan 1951 and Aug 1953, who survived the disease, and whose medical records provided adequate diagnostic evidence. Comparisons were selected from companies with no cases of KHF that year. In addition to the 1,416 white exposed and 831 white comparison individuals from the original study, 187 non-white exposed and 99 non-white comparisons are included. Nonwhites were originally excluded from the study, but their data are retrievable.
