The Institute of Medicine of the National Academies is releasing a report at a public briefing on Tuesday, December 6 at 11:00 am at the NAS Auditorium. The report, Food Marketing to Children and Youth: Threat or Opportunity? explores the influence of food and beverage marketing on the diets and diet-related health of U.S. children and youth. The briefing will include the committee's recommendations for how various stakeholders can promote healthful foods and beverages to children and youth. This study is the most comprehensive review of the scientific evidence to date and was funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in response to a congressional directive.
