Special Meeting with Senior United Nations Systems Coordinator for Avian and Human Influenza

The Committee on Achieving Sustainable Global Capacity for Surveillance and Response to Emerging Diseases of Zoonotic Origin will be holding a special meeting with the Senior United Nations System Coordinator for Avian and Human Influenza, Dr. David Nabarro.  Dr. Nabarro will inform the committee on relevant issues to consider when developing a global and sustainable surveillance system for emerging diseases of zoonotic origin.  The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 11 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Keck Center for the National Academies, 500 5th Street NW, Washington, DC 20001 in room 600.  The majority of the committee will be participating via teleconference. There is limited seating capacity, so if you are interested in attending, please contact Sarah Jane Brown at sjbrown@nas.edu by the close of business on Friday, September 5.

9:30 am – 10:00 am:      Presentation by David Nabarro

10:00 am – 11:25 am:    Discussion with committee members (in person and via teleconference)

11:30 am:                     Adjourn meeting
