Workshop: The Economics of Antimalarial Drugs

The committee examined evolving patterns of malaria (including drug resistance) and the options for controlling it, with the aim of developing policy strategies, particularly financing strategies, that could lead to the greatest good for those most affected, as well as for the larger population at risk. The potential for incremental improvement of existing new antimalarials through pharmaceutical technology also will be explored.
