Please join us for a lecture to honor The African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), the 2005 winner of the Gates Award for Global Health.
The Gates Award for Global Health recognizes an organization that has made a major and lasting contribution to the field of global health. Established in December 2000 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the award carries with it a $1 million honorarium and is presented at the Global Health Council's annual conference.
Hosted by the Institute of Medicine and the Global Health Council, this lecture will highlight the effect of AMREF's work on the communities it serves. Learn why AMREF was chosen for this prestigious award, perspectives on how and why the AMREF organizational model has made an impact, and how the $1million prize will help AMREF carry its work forward.
