Day 1 - Monday
Purpose: Understand PEPFAR Mission staff’s perspective on program implementation (especially coordination & harmonization)
Morning: Introductory Meeting w/ US Ambassador & PEPFAR leadership team
Afternoon: Meetings w/ PEPFAR Mission Staff – focused on prevention, treatment, care, & management
Evening: Debrief and work on visit report
Day 2 - Tuesday
Purpose: Understand perspective of country officials, other donors, & partners on PEPFAR implementation (especially coordination & harmonization)
Morning: Meeting w/ National AIDS leadership & staff (e.g., MoH); Meeting w/ National AIDS coordinating entity
Afternoon: Meeting w/ National M&E authority; Meeting w/ Other Donors & Partner Organizations
Evening: Debrief and work on visit report
Day 3 – Wednesday
Purpose: Examine PEPFAR-supported prevention, treatment, & care programs
Morning & Afternoon: IOM Team breaks into two groups for program visits
Team 1: For example, visit different types of prevention programs
Team 2: For example, visit different types of treatment programs
Evening: Dinner with local community representatives (PLWHA groups, community leaders, partner NGOs, other NGOs); Debrief and work on visit report
Day 4 – Thursday
Purpose: Examine PEPFAR-supported prevention, treatment, & care programs
Morning & Afternoon: IOM Team breaks into two groups for program visits
Team 1: For example, visit different types of care programs
Team 2: For example, visit different types of orphan programs
Evening: Debrief and work on visit report
Day 5 – Friday
Purpose: Examine PEPFAR-supported capacity-building efforts
Morning & Afternoon: IOM Team breaks into two groups for program visits
Team 1: For example, visit to offices responsible for national supply chain management, blood bank, IT program, etc.
Team 2: For example, visit training & workforce development programs, medical records program, lab, etc.
Team 1 & 2: Exit meeting with US Ambassador & PEPFAR Mission staff to request additional information, clarifications, etc.
Evening: Debrief and work on visit report
