Summary excerpt from the Statement of Child and Adults with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: CHADD would like to thank the Committee on Clinical reserach Involving Children from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences for allowing us to speak at this meeting. CHADD is a non-profit orgnaization representing children and adults with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. We have 20,000 members who are predominantly families, with 1,400 professional members. Our mission is to advocate for research and clincial/educational services for children, youth and adults with ADHD, disseminate information on evidenced-based practices for ADHD, and provide support to individuals and their familites. I am a researcher, professor of educational psycholoty and currently serve on the CHADD Professional Advisory Board.
