Summary excerpt from the Statement of American Academy of Pediatrics: The Committee on Pediatric Research is a national committee that develops Academy policy pertaining to all aspects of children's research and includes representatives from a wide range of federal government agencies and pediatric professional organizations who share a similar interest. The AAP is an organization of 57,000 primary care pediatricians, pediatric medical subspecialists and pediatric surgical specialists dedicated to the health, safety and well being of infants, children, adolescents and young adults.
