The following Medical Preparedness Forum Lunch Seminars entitled, "Civil Defense for the 21st Century" will held in Room 100 at the Keck Center of National Academies, Washington, D.C. in March 2009 and April 2009: 

  Session 1 - Monday, March 23rd, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm. 

•  Topic for discussion - Strategies and opportunities to strengthen preparedness at the community and personal level;

 Session 2 - Tuesday, April 7th, 2008, 12:00 pm-3:00 pm.

•  Topic for discussion - Lessons learned and policy options for strategic partnerships (i.e., public-public, and public-private) that are necessary to ensure effective preparedness and response;

 Session 3 - Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm.

•  Topic for discussion - Federal capability and responsibilities for the coordination, planning, and response to catastrophic events.
