The Learning Healthcare System series focuses on issues important to improving the development and application of evidence in healthcare decision making. The Roundtable serves as a neutral venue for cooperative work among key stakeholders on several dimensions: to help transform the availability and use of the best evidence for the collaborative health care choices of each patient and provider; to drive the process of discovery as a natural outgrowth of patient care; and, ultimately, to ensure innovation, quality, safety, and value in health care.
To inform Roundtable discussion on relevant policy issues, Roundtable staff often author background briefing material, which can be found through the links on the right.
Our 2008 Annual Report, Learning Healthcare System Concepts v2008 provides a summary of the issues, themes and priorities to emerge from the Roundtable's work.
