The Institute of Medicine's Committee on Optimizing Graduate Medical Trainee (Resident) Hours and Work Schedules to Improve Patient Safety held a public workshop on December 3, 2007 in the Lecture Room of the National Academy of Sciences Building, 2100 C Street, NW, Washington, DC . The committee meeting and public workshop were open to the public from 11 am to 5:30 pm.
During the open session, the Committee heard presentations by invited experts in resident hours, education, and health care safety. There was also an opportunity for comments and questions from the public between 5 pm and 5:30 pm.
