The Committee on Planning a Continuing Health Care Professional Education Institute held a meeting to review and discuss different aspects that impact continuing education. They reviewed the accreditation and credentialing of continuing education; examined how funding and provision could be improved from the perspective of providers and funders; discussed how continuing education impacts the work of those that are users of the system; and lastly, focused on how the use of continuing education could impact and possibly improve patient outcomes.
