Board(s):

Activity Description

The Committee on Guidance for Designing a National Health Care Disparities Report was formed to provide guidance to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality on the design of a national report on disparities in health care, including:

  • access to health care,
  • utilization of services, and
  • quality of services received.

    The Committee took into account such population factors as socioeconomic status, attitudes toward health, the language spoken, the extent of formal education, and the area or community in which the population resides. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality requested guidance on the conceptual framework of the report, the types of measures that might be included, and possible data sources.
