The State of Quality Improvement and Implementation Research Workshop, held May 24-25, 2007, convened experts to gain a better understanding of what is known and not known about quality improvement and implementation research. Experts were asked to identify current methods and best practices as well as aras where future efforts should be concentrated to propel the field. While the workshop highlighted that the current evidence does not clearly identify what works in quality improvement, it identified many opportunities for change and innovation.
