The purpose of this workshop was to obtain perspectives and information from experts in the fields of: quality measurement, improvement, oversight and research, on ways to improve current federal programs on health care quality. Specifically, the focus of the IOM Committee's work was on Medicare, Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program, Tricare and Veterans Affairs.
