In response to a request from the Food and Nutrition Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for a proposal for a workshop on planning a WIC research agenda, the IOM held a 2-day public workshop on emerging research needs for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (commonly referred to as the WIC Program). An unedited transcript of the workshop presentations will be provided to the sponsor, and an individually-authored summary of the workshop will subsequently be prepared and reviewed through National Academies procedures prior to release.
