Meeting 2 of the IOM Committee on Strategies to Reduce Sodium Intake was held on March 30-31, 2009 in Washington, DC. Monday, March 30 consisted of an all-day information-gathering workshop which included presentations on sodium (taste perception and technological innovations), consumer interface (public health interventions over time and current consumer perspectives), regulatory options for reducing sodium intake, surveillance and monitoring, the United Kingdom experience in reducing sodium intake, and perspectives of the food industry and food service.
