The Committee on Examination of Front-of-Package Nutrition Rating Systems and Symbols held its first committee meeting on February 2-3, 2010, which included an open public session on February 2, 2010. During the open session, the committee heard the perspectives from representatives of various government agencies and study sponsors, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Adminstration, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, on the topic of front-of-package labeling systems.
