The Food Forum of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) will convene a workshop on the current and potential role of food technology in addressing today’s most critical public health challenge – overweight and obesity. This 2-day workshop will explore the various technological advances within the modern food system and how they might interact with behavioral interventions, economics, innovation and design. Behaviorists, government scientists, and scientists from the food industry will consider the successes and challenges of developing and incorporating technological advances to produce more nutritious foods.
