Meeting

During this two-day workshop, private stakeholders and policymakers discussed current challenges in the areas of emergency care quality and patient safety, reimbursement, research, workforce training, and financing as well as potential solutions through improvements in coordinated federal action.

The workshop began on Thursday, May 21, 2009 with a keynote address followed by progress reports detailing the strides the federal government has made since the release of the IOM emergency care series in 2006. Later, panel discussions on key topics facing emergency care continued through Friday, May 22, 2009. The workshop adjourned at 3:00 pm on the 22nd.
