The Committee on Achieving Sustainable Global Capacity for Surveillance and Response to Emerging Diseases of Zoonotic Origin held a special meeting via teleconference with former committee member, Dr. Nirmal Ganguly, and Dr. Mark Smolinski of Google.org. Dr. Ganguly, former Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research, informed the committee on India's efforts in disease surveillance, and Dr. Mark Smolinski, Director of Google.org's Predict and Prevent Initiative, informed the committee on Google.org's new portfolio activities regarding global disease surveillance.
