Activity Description

At the request of the CDC, an IOM committee conducted a review of the ATSDR (Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry) draft reports "Public Health Implications of Hazardous Substances in Twenty-Six U.S. Great Lakes Areas of Concern." Specifically, the committee reviewed the April 2004 draft; the revised draft (July 2007); and the later revised February 2008 draft to determine: whether the scientific evidence presented in the reports support the reports' conclusions; and whether the reports adequately respond to review.
