Activity Description

The Institute of Medicine has been asked to conduct a study on the addition of coverage of routine thyroid screening (using a thyroid stimulating hormone test) as a preventative benefit under title XVIII of the Social Security Act for some or all Medicare beneficiaries. In conducting the study, the Committee will consider the short-term and long-term benefits, and cost to the Medicare program.
