Immunization Finance Workshops for the IOM Report, Calling the Shots

Activity Description

In 2001 and 2002, four meetings were convened, consisting of regional workshops in Illinois,Texas, and California, and a national workshop in Washington, DC, to enhance awareness of the results of the study of the IOM Committee on Immunization Finance, Calling the Shots: Immunization Finance Policies and Practice.

 

The meetings addressed the following goals:

  • Foster awareness of the conclusions and recommendations of the IOM report Calling the Shots;
  • Strengthen interactions among public and private health sector officials to build consensus about immunization infrastructure initiatives, measurement approaches, and financing plans;
  • Identify unresolved public health and health finance issues and concerns at the regional/state/local levels that require further attention from public and private policymakers.
