A planning committee organized a 1-day workshop reviewing the impact of the 2000 NRC-IOM report From Neurons to Neighborhoods. Topics to be addressed in the workshop will focus on progress in response to three main recommendations of the report: (1) Integrating child development research, neuroscience, and molecular genetics; (2) Integrating the basic science of human development and the applied science of early childhood intervention; and (3) Improving evaluations of early childhood interventions.  A series of fact sheets highlighting examples of the impact of the report and a rapporteur's summary of the workshop presentations and discussions will be prepared and published by the National Academies Press.
