Social Media
The IOM uses Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to inform and engage our many stakeholders. The IOM’s posts on Twitter and Facebook will relate to:
- Public workshops, webcasts, and meetings sponsored or co-sponsored by the IOM
- IOM annual meeting updates prior to and during the meeting
- IOM publications: new reports or previous reports that relate to current news stories or congressional hearings and action
- IOM work in progress, including forums and roundtables, standing committees, and ongoing studies
- Videos or podcasts created by the IOM or related to health themes
- Photos from IOM events
- National or international health-related stories
Twitter
The IOM provides updates via Twitter using the handle @
theIOM.
We encourage our followers to interact with us via Twitter. The IOM will review all @replies, direct messages, and mentions of the IOM on Twitter. We will attempt to respond to as many messages as we can; however, we may not be able to reply to all messages that we receive.
How do I view or sign up to receive IOM’s tweets?
- You may also join Twitter to "follow" or subscribe to IOM tweets. Registration for Twitter is free. To follow the IOM, sign in, go to the "@Connect" tab at the top of the screen, and type “theIOM” into the search box, then click "follow" next to the “theIOM” icon.
- IOM tweets can be seen without joining Twitter at www.twitter.com/theiom.
Facebook
The IOM's Facebook page can be found at
http://www.facebook.com/theIOM. The page can be viewed by members and non-members of Facebook. If you are a member, we encourage you to "like" our page to receive our updates in your News Feed.
LinkedIn
Follow the IOM on LinkedIn and add your committee membership to your LinkedIn profile.
